3 months with Zaylee

And just like that, Zaylee is 3 months old! I thought watching Zoe growing up when she was a baby was fast enough, but holy moly I was totally wrong. Learning from my experience with Zoe, I tried so hard to soak in every moment so far, but I wonder if I have done enough judging from how fast time is fleeting. Zaylee is growing like a weed - she is chunking up nicely, becoming more expressive and interactive, and well, she is just growing so much. It makes my heart happy and hurt so much haha. Can the time slow down just a little bit? We never knew we needed her in our lives, but now that she is here, we can't imagine a life without her. It sounds so cliche and I have heard others say that many times, but I get it now. I should have never worried whether I could love another baby just as I do with Zoe...what a silly thing to worry about. We are just absolutely in love with her.

I get many questions about her current milestones and how she's doing with sleep so keep scrolling for that information. :)

**We have been calling her Zay a lot lately, so just know that Zay=Zaylee whenever you notice that nickname on any posts.**

Feeding: Zay has been drinking like a champ by chugging 4.5 oz every 3 hours (and drinking 5oz to start her day every morning). She keeps me working hard to pump milk and is definitely not letting me slow down. I do exclusively pump (as I did with Zoe) and plan on continuing however long I can mentally handle. Thankfully my oversupplying tendency continued this time around also, so she is currently on 100% breastmilk. If I feel like slowing down eventually, I will start combo-feeding her with formula and the frozen stash.

Sleeping: Another extremely popular question from all my friends haha. I feel very fortunate that she is a great sleeper so far. I'm always a little cautious to talk about this because you never know how sleep pattern is going to evolve as babies go through many sleep regressions. For now, her first 2 naps are quite solid; she can nap for up to 2-2.5 hours. Afternoon naps get a little more tricky as we cater more to Zoe's schedules (especially on days when she's not at preschool)...but afternoon naps are always a little doozy in my opinion so I just try to babywear her whenever I can. She is currently sleeping through the night, generally from 7pm to 7/8am with a dream feed around 10pm. We loosely follow the Taking Cara Babies recommendation by keeping track of awake time (about 1-1.5 hours) and following the sleep-feed-awake cycle. We also go by her sleepy/hunger cues to decide when she should sleep so I think that has helped a lot. We put her in Love to Dream swaddle (hand me down from Zoe) which we are a big fan of and credit to her good sleep also. We transitioned her to the crib in her bedroom at 11 weeks old.

Other things she loves: This baby LOVES baths; she flashes the biggest smile when whenever we prep for bathtime. This gives us hope that she will enjoy her future survival swim lessons...we shall see.

She also loves Zoe. Some of her earliest smiles were reserved for her unnie (big sister in Korean) only. She gets love attacked quite often and had to endure a fair share of really tight hugs and kisses. It's amazing to see her brighten up every time she sees her big sis.

Soon after turning 2 months, we started to hear her coo and now she's in full babble/coo mode. Her cooing is so sweet and just completely melts my heart. She tries so hard to communicate with us; it is the most adorable thing ever.

She prefers modified tummy time using the Boppy Pillow over a full floor tummy time. Also, she DROOLS so. much. She couldn't possibly be teething already, could she?!

Like her big sis, she has been handling car rides quite excellently. She either falls asleep or just stays awake and looks around. Overall, she seems to have a pretty calm and sweet demeanor and an easy-going personality.

And since you are on here, allow me to photo-spam you with all things Zay (at least some of my favorite shots) from the last 3 months. If you can't tell, the whole family is a little bit obsessed with her.
