Mother's Day photos

Writer's picture: WonjeeWonjee

It is my third year celebrating Mother's Day, and I can't believe that I am now a mom of TWO girls! Becoming a girl mom has been so fun and it's a recipe in life that I didn't know I needed. One of the best gifts (and I think it's becoming a tradition in the making) that Z has done for me on Mother's Day is getting us girls matching outfits and essentially turning himself into a family/lifestyle photographer for the day. We, moms, know that it is a rarity to have good photos with our children, and I am no stranger to that. My phone is filled with selfies with my daughters because that's all I can get, and I give major credit to my husband for recognizing that and gifting me with precious, high-quality photos that I will be looking at for years to come.

This year's outfit is from Target, and believe it or not, I was also able to wear a Cat & Jack dress as well - ha! I am wearing an XL. The chest area is a bit snug and the length is a little shorter than I prefer, but I enjoyed matching completely with my girls, and I think they (Zoe) loved that too. I can't complain about a $10 kid-size dress. The design is bright and fun, which was actually perfect for the wet Sunday we experienced.

Having a husband follow you around all day and taking photos of you can feel a little awkward, but I really embraced it this year because I know these photos will be like a treasure for me. Zoe, our sassy, camera-loving child, of course, loved all the attention and had no problem posing for the camera.

Although I was slightly disappointed that we couldn't take some photos outside (thanks, the rain), we made the best of it in the house all day.

Thank you, honey, for the matching outfits, flowers, and yummy steak dinner! Motherhood has been the most fulfilling, joyous, challenging, and humbling experience so far, but I wouldn't trade it for the world. I feel immensely thankful to be Zoe and Zaylee's momma! And, of course, I cannot end this post without thanking our two wonderful moms/the girls' grandmas for guiding us, loving us, and always unconditionally supporting us!
