Nursery

Updated: Apr 18, 2020

Soooo…guess what? We have reached the due date!!! Still no signs of BabyB; she seems to very cozy in there. Before I go into spontaneous, unexpected labor or something, I figured I need to unveil the nursery to the world. I think it was about a week ago when I finally felt like the nursery was “done.” Or it was more like I was content with how things were even though I might be missing a few things here and there.

This room was originally my office – we initially planned on keeping the same color scheme (yellow/gray/white) because we didn’t feel it was necessary to completely change everything. However, Z fell in love with the gray/blush theme so we ended up changing our plan.

We still didn’t want to spend so much money transforming the room into something totally different. So, as much as it was going to be time-consuming and laborious despite our busy work schedules, we spent several weekends painting the existing furniture to match the gray/blush vision we had. We painted the twin captain’s bed (from college years) into white and a brown bookshelf (also from college years) into gray using chalk paint. A couple of walls were painted in gray – we used Valspar’s Gravity (4005-1B).

Curtains are from Home Goods and the quilt bedding is from Target. The only new items we got are the crib (which was gifted to us by my coworkers!) and a white metal utility cart from Target.

We are very happy with how the room turned out. The transformation was very budget-friendly. I love how the room feels more open, airy, and bright now. We can’t wait to bring our baby girl here soon!
