Product Demo: Crystal Secret Peel-Off Mask

Updated: Apr 17, 2020

Do you ever see a Facebook ad and make you wonder if it actually works? I try to ignore those ads because I’’m afraid that they are just junk items, but for some reason, I couldn’t pass this up quite easily. I do get adventurous when it comes to facial products – I don’t have the best facial skin – I grew up acne prone and didn’t pay attention to caring for my skin until a few years ago. Like many people out there, I probably started being more interested in skincare since I noticed more fine wrinkles on my face LOL.

Anyway, I love a good peel-off mask if it could take out all the gross stuff my clogged pores. For some reason, exfoliating my face doesn’t do enough?!

I finally gave in bought this off of the Facebook ad. I paid $20 and included free 2-day shipping. By the way, I was charged with $.50 foreign transaction fee(?!), so maybe buy with a credit card that waives foreign transaction fee (i.e., Amazon, Southwest, Costco credit cards…so many out there these days). Also, THIS IS NOT A PAID AD. I get absolutely no compensation for this but wanted to post about it for those who might be intrigued (beware, my no make up self will be coming up soon).

I couldn’t exactly wake up my exhausted husband to take video of me actually applying the mask so you’ll have to settle with an after-application of myself. The mask has a very thick texture and it dries pretty quickly. After putting this on several times now, my advice would be to apply it rather thicky. It makes the peeling much easier. And of course, avoid near your eyebrow and hairline. Initially, finding a spot to begin the “peel” can be a little tricky. I usually pinch my skin slightly to create a wrinkle on the mask – it creates a little air bubble in which you can grab and begin to the peel it off slowly.

After the peel, you are left with this nasty but extremely satisfying view of THIS (yuck). This was already by 5th or 6th application so it grossness has lessened, but give it a try your first time and you will either find it super therapeutic or grossed out.

Since I have used this multiple times now, I am happy to report that it really makes a positive difference on my face. These last several months, I was breaking out heavily around the jawline and while I still have some acne around there, I firmly believe that the mask lessened the intensity of the condition. I try to apply at least once or twice a week. I have a combination skin (dry on my cheeks and forehead, oily on T-Zone) so this frequency is ideal for me. I rarely apply the mask to the entire face; since my problem spots tend to me on T-Zone area, that’s where I regularly apply the mask. Overall, the mask has been immensely helpful in providing a deep clean my for skin but clearing up the pores. My acne has improved greatly, and I seem to have a healthier complexion than before. Of course, you would still want to regularly hydrate your skin and protect itself from the harsh sun light.
