Hello friends!
Hope everyone is doing well. How is it that April is almost over?!?! I always have conflicted feelings about time passing so fast, especially since I become a mom. The spring weather in Houston has been surprisingly pleasant (low humidity, sunny but coolish temperature) this year unlike what I had remembered in the past. I'm sure I'll jinx it immediately by complimenting Houston weather...oh wait, the forecast does show that we are going to start having the kind of heat that I've been dreading.
A few days ago, I posted on my Instagram about my new purchase and received a lot of DMs from mom friends (of human kids and/or furry kids) about my initial reaction. First of all, I am NOT an influencer nor getting paid for this review - I am simply a mom of 1 human and 2 furry toddlers constantly cleaning and deng does one charge last? (not tested)ou)o
In the spirit of being a product guinea pig, I decided to record and share my experience! Recording myself was super embarrassing so don't evaluate my performance based on that. If you get tired of me talking, you can skip straight to 7:44 to see if it sucks up Cheerios (hint: it does!). Remember that I recorded this on the day it was delivered to me, so this is more of an initial reaction than a long-term review. Don't come back at me if it doesn't work 2 months later 😉.
Verdict (for now): worth a try! After all, my main goal of this vacuum is to suck up crumbs and Cheerios which did all of that. In the video, I used the accessory thinking that it would get to nooks and crannies better, but the more I used it the better I liked without it. It has adequate power to get the job done, but it is definitely not made for heavy-duty. Don't expect that you'll be able to vacuum the whole car with this simply because it doesn't have enough (suction) power to get all the dirt out. However, if you are simply looking for something to quickly clean up your kid's messes, I think it's worth it to have one in the car.
What about pet hair? I honestly have not tried it yet to provide any verdict. I think it will depend on the type of seats you have in the car. If you have leather seats, it should work fine. If you have fabric/cloth seats or trying to vacuum the trunk, which is usually felt-like material, it might not work even with the brush attachment. If the fabric seats are more performance fabric, then this might vacuum might do enough job with pet hair. Overall, I think it will be hit or miss.
I drive a 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe and it fits well in the side cubby (bottom picture) as long as you remove the portable stand. It still fits ok with the stand, but it does stick out (top picture) a little more, which I fear would become a constant bump spot for my toddler.
Here are my pros and cons based on a few days of usage:
Pros:
Portable. light, and sleek looking
USB charging (this could also be one of the cons)
Decent suction power for its size
Affordable (compared to other similar products)
Cons:
USB charging (takes 3.5 hours to fully charge and also concerns about the longevity of its power)
Tiny dust cup (again, not meant for heavy-duty usage)
How long does one charge last? (not tested)
Loud
I hope this helps with your decision! (Edited: the 13% discount on Amazon is still available).
