Every year on January 26th always brings me mixed emotions. First of all, it is my brother’s birthday and he turned 28 today. I have lived away from home since 2006, which makes it 9 years of missing his birthday. I think I was there on his actual birthday maybe a couple of times, but that was it. As his only sibling in this world, I always feel a little sad that I could not be there to celebrate. Sometimes, I feel I feel like a failure as a sister.
After years of health concerns and struggle to develop normally, I am so proud of him for the man he has become. He is always happy, positive, and has enormous amount of patience that I continue fail at every day.
