Sooooo…I did a thing this past Sunday. Anyone who knows me well might realize my dislikeness for heights. When my friend Meghan mentioned wanting to go GoApe for her birthday, let me just say that Z was super shocked that I agreed to go. Well, let’s just say I didn’t exactly know what I was signing up for until AFTER I had already bought tickets for me and Z to go. GoApe is a treetop obstacle course that is available at many locations across the country, and one is here in Creve Coeur, MO. I instantly started freaking out when I began to read the reviews and saw the photos/videos that people posted. Holy crap – it involves heights! Tickets were already bought, and I wasn’t going to become one of those friends who back out just because I was a wuss when it came to heights.
I dragged Z (poor husband) with me and met up with the birthday girl along with some of her friends and her brother. Thank goodness Z was there ready to kick me from behind because I could have held up the entire line from stage 1 (thanks, honey).
Anyway, here is a quick synopsis (and progression) of how I slowly conquered my fear of heights. Ok, I wouldn’t quite jump to the conclusion that I “conquered” it, but I did feel pretty accomplished (and exhausted) by the end of 3-hour run.
Here come my super amateur video making skills (I’ll remind Z not to take videos vertically LOL).
