Year 35

Thank you all for the birthday wishes by phone, text, and FB post! I am one blessed, lucky gal! It's hard to believe I'm already 35, but my amazing mom kindly reminded me that mid-30s is one of the best time of the life! I'm sure I will feel good about myself when I am 40 years old eventually, but I must admit that I love being in my 30s (wayyyyy better than 20s).

35 does have somewhat of a special feeling it seems as it marks halfway into this decade. Life truly has been good to me - I appreciate my ability to care for my family, families and friends who love and support me, a beautiful home where we make wonderful memories every day, our small and big travels throughout the year...the list goes on. Oh, I got to sleep in today, which there are no words to describe for. I think moms should sleep in every weekend! 🤣

This weekend, however, was truly an affirmation that family is the core of my happiness. I had a rare opportunity to celebrate this birthday weekend with my mom (who made me Miyeok Guk, a Korean birthday soup, this morning!) and brother and a husband who is actually around on weekends (for those in medical life, you would appreciate this lol). And of course, I am not forgetting my little girl 😉.

Even though I received such thoughtful gifts from Z and my MIL, the best gift was Little Z saying, "Happy Birthday Mommy!" Thank you, Z, for training her all morning 🤣. It is the best feeling ever. She truly makes my life wholesome.

Z took us out to a Bazillion Steakhouse tonight, and I am absolutely having a food coma at the moment. If I'm not making any sense, you'll know why (for DFW folks, check out Brazilian Steakhouse). We also watched the new James Bond movie (totally recommend for you all to watch it!) while my mom babysat Little Z.

To recap our weekend - yesterday, we went to a small but cute pumpkin patch for Little Z. At first, I was looking to go to more well-known farms, but it felt like a lot of those were more appropriate for older toddlers so we opted for a church-based pumpkin patch. We went to the St. John the Apostle | Pumpkin Patch (sjaumc.org).

Don't let the pictures deceive you, though. What she really cared about the whole time was pulling the wagon...NOT pumpkins.

So, again, thank you all for making this gal feel special today!
