Zoe turns 4

Zoe turned 4 on Sunday! How do we already have a 4-year-old? What happened to my baby?! Each year, her birthday brings me progressively more mixed emotions - I love watching her become her own person, yet I want to cling to those short, precious baby/little human years. I know she is still a little human, but there are more days when she acts like a bigger kid than not these days...and it stings my heart a bit. I know I get to have my baby snuggles with Zaylee, but there is a part of me wishing that they can both just stay that way a little longer. And then, I go down the rabbit hole of wondering if I have given her enough snuggles, spending quality time with her up to this point., etc. Mom guilt sucks.

Ms. Zoe is very much into princesses these days. She is a girly girl to the core and fully embraces all the fancy dresses that a princess represents in her mind. Of course, my mom (Zoe's "halmi") simply fuels more to this passion so Zoe has more dresses than I can keep track of. But thanks to halmi, I didn't have to go out and buy a birthday dress ;).

You can easily guess that her birthday theme this year was "princess" and boy did we (aka "I", the party planner) go all out. I didn't think I was going to become that birthday-party-planner mom, but I shamelessly admit I am. It is fun to see your child enjoying it, so it's all worth it. The cake was done by my go-to local baker, Andrea from Sugar and Spice. If you live in Arlington or nearby, I cannot recommend her enough. She is the sweetest and the most amazing baker.

The highlight of the party was inviting Elsa (Royally Fun Parties | Party Characters | Dallas/Fort Worth and Beyond)! Elsa had storytime, craft time, a hide-and-seek game, a singalong of some of the show's favorite tunes, a crown for Zoe, and leading the happy birthday song. This was a complete surprise for Zoe and her friends, and watching their reactions were priceless.

It was a perfect indoor birthday setup all while giving parents a little bit of a break from entertaining their kids as well. I could not compliment enough how engaging and fun Elsa was with the kids.

Happy birthday to our smart, witty, strong-minded, sweet, and caring Zoe. May you always have fun with life and remember that your family always loves you. And, thank you to her friends for making her the happiest little girl that day!
